I visited Crackshot in Newton Abbot today to purchase an air rifle, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Mark was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. He took the time to walk me through everything I needed to know, answered all of my questions and gave me a huge amount of useful information and advice without ever making me feel rushed or pressured. He also zeroed the rifle for me free of charge, which was a fantastic touch and gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing that I was leaving with everything set up properly. I appreciate that the shop obviously made a sale from me, but I never felt like I was simply being sold something. I felt like I was being properly looked after and guided towards exactly what I wanted for roughly the budget I had in mind. “MAKE THIS PLACE YOUR FIRST POINT OF CONTACT-having bought a rifle online which was leaking and having it replaced 3 times always with the same fault on each rifle, I decided it would be best to deal with some experts more local to me. Upon arrival we were surprised to see such a wide selection of guns on offer both new and preowned. Having come to terms with the fact that if I wanted something that’s going to last a lifetime I would have to spend more money the very helpful staff helped me narrow down my search based on the needs I gave them. Regulated, .22, PCP, etc. I settled on a gun that was right for me which they also had a preowned version of and allowed me to try the preowned version for an hour on their indoor range to ensure it was the right rifle before making any final commitments. I was so impressed with the gun and the service and staff not only did I buy the rifle for myself, I also bought another rifle for my father and a new scope. The deal that was put together for us was amazing and too good to walk away from. Whilst I’m not suggesting anyone should enter this establishment and try and beat the staff up over price, I can assure you they will do everything possible to ensure you feel welcomed and cared for and in our case they have certainly secured customers for life. For our future gun needs, this will be our first point of contact for sure.”

“I bought pellets from them for a while now and one of the lads suggested the AA express as a change from AA diablo field for a springer and they have been great. It’s been very interesting as a springer man constantly buggering about with my pellets. Just honest advice as something to try why I’m buying pellets there already.
I shoot outdoors I have some small permissions to blast rats and rabbits with my beloved 95k in a 98 stock. I’ve been desperate to zero it on an indoor range since a put new glass on.
By chance I turned up with two of my friends that don’t shoot and they rented a couple of guns as I rented a lane with my own gun. Crackshot looked after my friends and they had a great time I didn’t take note of the supplied guns but good PCPs with fresh glass Hawke airmax and obviously zeroed to the range and gave all relevant instruction to reticule and all safety measures. They had a great time and were shooting well and Mark was perfect he is a great teacher. Myself I buggering around with my windage got that right and I asked to use the chronograph and nothing was a problem we tried different pellets and for me very useful information. I was missing a stock screw I lost my last hunt and they even took time to go” hang we might have one lying around here”. We didn’t find a bolt a suit but I did not ask them to look. Exceptional stuff.
This shop is “just” a bunch of people that love their airguns with years of knowledge they want to give and also bring new people to sport.
I do use my gun and work it, but I am only hobbyist ultimately and these guys have been great to speak to but also to look after my friends and they had a great days shooting on the range, well Crackshot is a well needed champion of our great sport from the fresh to the hobbyist.”

Thankfully for me a member of staff at Crackshot found a very serious problem with my week old gun and the supplying dealer has agreed to give me a full refund. Unfortunately for Simon the salesperson, he drew the short straw and showed me countless rifles, answered a gazillion questions and never once put any pressure on me or ‘she who must be obeyed’ I suppose we must have been in the shop for maybe 45 minutes or longer. When we finally left we left with the exact gun we wanted at a very nice price and a feeling of not being taken for a numpty.
